Happy Labor Day! I'm enjoying an unexpected day at home. Adam and I had planned on finishing a deck job he has today, but due to the cloudy skies and forecast for possible rain, we decided to stay home. I've enjoyed the extra time to get some things done and just relax and enjoy a cool, cloudy day.
I realize I haven't blogged in a while... slipping back into old habits I suppose. The last month has been kind of hard. I've had some health issues, work issues, and Adam is continuing his job search. Fortunately, he has been able to get some short-term jobs recently, which are going to help out tremendously.
I've been watching the news closely today and anticipating the possibility that I may be working in Disaster Relief this week. It would be a welcome break so I'm sort of hoping I do get to do that.
Last weekend Adam and I hosted a game night for our neighbors. It was a great opportunity to get to connect with the people we live around and work on building some relationships. We're hoping to make it a tradition and do it once a month. We're also getting ready to start the small group for our the new church plant, Bezalel Church, in a couple of weeks. In addition to that, we've signed up to take Financial Peace University, and we're also going to be hosting a single ladies Bible Study at our house (on Adam's accountability group night) for the Midtown Bridge. In other words, it looks like we're about to enter a very busy season, but a good one I think.
