The Memory of a Friend
Today I attended the funeral of a friend of mine, Monice. Monice and I were in Ms. Agnes' Sunday School class together at First Baptist Woodstock. Monice died of a blood clot on Tuesday. I don't think you're ever prepared for the death of a friend. Monice was a good friend. I hadn't talked to her much the past couple of years and I regret that now, knowing the next chance I'll have to see her smile and to give her a hug will be in heaven. I look forward to that day. It saddens me to think of how many friends I don't talk to on a regular basis. Life takes us different directions and the next thing you know its been months, then years since you've talked. I hope to cherish my friendships more in the future. Monice, I'll miss you, but I'm certain you're celebrating your new home today and one day we'll meet again.
