Adam and I had a great time in California and at the Origins Conference. The conference was challenging and inspiring. Here are some of my favorite quotes (as best as I could copy them down) from Erwin McManus at the conference:
How many of us lead just enough to keep our jobs, but not to the level we're called?
What actually develops mature followers of Christ? The gap time between understanding and obedience.
Human beings become what they experience (not what you tell them).
We can't afford for people to think Christianity is about how much you know instead of how much you live out.
The way you move someone toward maturity is to get them serving.
The only limit of your effectiveness is the depth of your humility.
If you think you know something, you will not explore it.
Do you have the courage to do what is right, regardless of the circumstances?
True biblical community always looks to the outsider.
These are just a few of the ones I was able to get down. I'm grateful that God allowed us to be a part of this conference. We learned a lot and are still processing it all and praying through the things God spoke to us about.
Here's the link to the Mosaic podcast where you can get his sermons. I just finished listening to the first one in the series they just finished called, Romance Unwrapped. Good stuff! Check it out: http://www.mosaic.org/podcast/
